Product Review

So last week I went on a shopping spree in preparation for those engagement pictures that I cannot stop talking about. And I actually came away really happy with some of my findings, which I thought I would share with you fine people.

My first search for for shampoo and conditioner. I was almost out and I wasn't sure what to get. Lately, when I searched I had felt like I didn't fit into any of the categories, and that I just wanted something for hair that was normal. I currently have L'Oreal's Vive Pro for Dry Hair. I mostly bought it because one of my roommates had it second year, a
nd I love how it smells. It also leaves my hair silky and smooth (cue Adam Sandler voice).

{mine is almost out but I will definitely buy it again. It
smells so good!}

I wound up deciding that I should try a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. I don't typically have issues with volume, but my hair has gotten really long and I sometimes worry that it gets flat. The lady at the store recommended Redken's Full Body Shampoo and Conditioner.

I really like it! My hair definitely feels thicker after I use this. The first day I tried it it was super rainy and humid, i.e. recipe for bad hair day. But this stuff really did the trick! Although I'm not sure how much it had to do with this:
This is Redken's Layer Lift Length-Elevating Spray Gel. I picked it out as part of the deal with the shampoo and conditioner. I think it helps, even though I haven't tried it separately from the other stuff. I think it gives my hair more texture.

Okay, moving on. I also splurged on some eyeliner after realizing that I basically had none in my collection.
{I think some of these colors are different from what I bought}

I bought the Smashbox gel eyeliner Metallic palette. This was also recommended to me. In the end, I decided not to wear this in the photos, but I really like it a lot, and I think it was worth the investment.

I ended up using a (relatively inexpensive) Ulta dark brown eyeliner pencil, along with an assortment of eye shadows that I've collected over the years. I'm tired of looking up photos now, so just use your imagination.

My last product plug is for some lotion that I bought a few weeks ago. I first saw this at the beach this summer when my aunt was putting it on her kids. I was fascinated by the whole lotion-in-a-tub thing, and it's still one of the perks for me.
For a drug store lotion, this stuff is not cheap. But it's pretty awesome. It just makes your skin feel really good without being oily at all. I can skip a day of not applying it and still feel like my skin is really soft. I'm definitely a fan.

Whew. If you made it this far, congrats! I'm gonna go eat some cake now. Later!
