Happy New Year!

We got snow again last night! This has been the snowiest December that I can remember. During our last snow (Blizzard '09) my mom and I made these sugar cookies:

This was of course before our dog ate eight of the cookies. Let's just say things got pretty ugly.

Since the year is ending, I figured it was appropriate to sum up the major events of 2009:

1. The biggest event for me this year was definitely getting engaged to Brian in May. It has been so exciting, and the following summer was so much fun as we celebrated our engagement.

2. Brian graduated with a degree in history from George Mason in May. It was an exciting milestone and we were all really proud of him : )

3. I coached my third season of swim team this year. It really is the most rewarding job, and each year is better than the last.

4. I went to Virginia Beach with Brian in July, Duck, NC with the fam in August, and NYC in October with my architecture studio.

5. In October I celebrated my 21st birthday in NYC with my architecture studio. I saw Wicked and went to a bar near Times Square at midnight on my birthday. It was so much fun and it was definitely an experience I will never forget.

Overall, 2009 has been a pretty swell year for me : ) I'm looking forward to 2010, and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I just needed some inspiration...

I watched Julie & Julia last night with my mom and aunt and was inspired to blog. It was interesting how the whole story was centered around her blog, and how she drew from the support she received through it. Every time it panned to the screen, I thought, "Oh hey, I have one of those!" So the moral of the story is that I am going to try to blog more. About what, I'm not sure. I don't plan on tackling Mastering the Art of French Cooking any time soon, if anyone was wondering.

I can't believe how the Christmas season just flew by. I had a good Christmas this year. The blizzard we got the weekend before Christmas was fun, and though it was nice to have a white Christmas, it did put a little pressure on the shopping. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Hopefully I will be posting again before the New Year (I'll probably regret saying that, haha).

I survived!

I have officially completed my third charrette. Over the last week, with the exception of Friday, I was probably home for an average of 6 hours a day. The rest of the time, I was at A-School. FOr the last 9 minutes, I have been forbidden to work on architecture. Let the chillling commence.

I think this quote from A Christmas Carol sums up my current mood: "I'm as light as a feather! I'm as happy as an angel! I'm as merry as a schoolboy!"
